THOSE
HIPS! THOSE SIDEBURNS! THAT VOICE! |
Over thirty years after his untimely death the music and impact of ELVIS PRESLEY continues to live on. This due in part to the efforts of tribute artists such as: |
|
Rick Dunham, AKA ELVIS HIMSELVIS |
|
Rick along with the DTCB Band have performed their "ELVIS
TRIBUTE SHOW" throughout the United States. Rick is spotlighted in
the books "I AM ELVIS and "THE KING AND I" and is also one of the select few Elvis Presley impersonators gracing the "KING of
CARDS" playing cards sold all over the world. Rick has performed as Elvis Himselvis in 31 states, Canada and Europe. He has been featured in The Chicago Tribune and USA Today and has been seen and heard on a variety of television and radio shows on local, national and international levels. His performance experience ranges from intimate gatherings to stadium audiences and he is an annual performer at the Illinois State Fair. Rick's performances are fun!!! He keeps the audience involved and spends a great portion of his time mixing with the crowd. Rick genuinely enjoys people and it shows in his performance, and of course, posing with fans and signing autographs is an indispensable part of each engagement. |
Inspired by his father, Don Dunham, Rick started singing and
mimicking records when he was 6 years old and began performing professionally soon after as a regular at the Illinois Junior Country Opry.
From there Rick and fellow performer Eric Etherton, formed the successful 70's singing group 'The Country Tadpoles', who became regulars on cable television's 'The Marty Roberts Country Music Show' and performed at numerous events throughout the Midwest.
Rick didn't begin imitating Elvis until his teens when comparisons were made as to how much he sounded like the King. Rick's love of entertaining led him to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical Theatre from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. He has worked as a professional actor with performances in over 70 productions in several states. Rick resides in Springfield, Illinois. When not performing as Elvis Himselvis, he combines his interests in acting, history and genealogy to perform as part of the ensemble cast at the acclaimed Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Rick also recently completed a film where he portrays Lincoln's rival Stephen Douglas, that will open at the Lincoln's Home Visitor Center in April of 2008. |
